313 Acres X Slate Quarry, Massive Industrial Workshop,8 Titles ,Potentiel To Re Commission.

Kings Plain Quarry (KPQ) is a Phyllite (hardened slate) and road base quarry. It is located 10km east of Blayney and 33km south west of Bathurst in the Central Tablelands of New South Wales, Australia – The Great Southern Land. It is part of the Devonian Cunningham formation.

The property is situated on approx 316 acres and the resource has been estimated to be in the region of 6,500,000 cubic meters which equates to approx 17,500,000 tonnes of premium material.

The resource itself is up to 700 million years old and the resource base is considerable – phase 1 indicates a mine life well in excess of 100 years. Phase 2 would give the mine a life of approx 200 years at an annual extraction rate of 50,000 cubic metres.

This quarry has been mined from the late 1880’s to present time. It may well have been one of the first commercially operated slate quarries in Australia, althought it was possibly mined on a smaller scale by local indigenous people prior to the 1880’s.

The prime object of the operation would be the quarrying of high quality slate, with residual income from road base and clean fill.

The Phyllite stone is attractive in its natural split state. It can however take a wide variety of surface finishes from honing for a matt finish, to a high polish.

Overseas, high quality Phyllite stone competes against Granite and Marble for Architectural specifications – for roofing, benchtops, cladding or flooring

All the necessary governmental approvals and licences for production were previously in place although the Mining Lease No. 1390 expired in May 2017.

The Mines Act provides for renewal of mining leases, providing operations are continuing and operations have been following current laws and environmental standards.

Therefore, it is anticipated the renewal of the lease would be achievable with correct planning application.

Over the last ten years approx $6,000,000 has been invested into KPQ to establish infrastructure and remove overburden, that has now been stockpiled.

This is an oustanding opportunity to capitalise on creating a multi faceted income opportunity with investment upside..
